Captain Aanshuman Singh was a medical officer in the 26 Punjab Regiment of Indian Army. He died while attempting to save fellow soldiers and retrieve critical medical supplies, from a fire accident in Siachen glacier region on 19th July 2023. On 5th July 2024, he received the India's second highest peacetime gallantry award - Kirti Chakra (posthumously) for his exceptional bravery. [3][4][5]
