Anar Alizade

Anar Alizade (born September 21, 1978 in Nakhchivan )[1] is an Azerbaijani businessman, owner and CEO of the Union Grand Energy group of companies, founder of the Baku Business Factory company [2] [3] , founder of SOCAR Trading [4](other founders: SOCAR , Valeri Golovushkin) and former president.

Life

Alizade was born in 1978 in the city of Nakhchivan. After graduating from secondary school, he studied at the Nakhchivan State University for a bachelor's degree in economics between 1996 and 2000, and later began his master's degree in economic administration at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan .

Since the end of the 1990s, he started his business activity by importing various products from the Republic of Turkey to the city of Nakhichevan. Then he engaged in import and passenger transportation as part of the family business.

Anar Alizade arrived in Baku in the early 20s and continued his business activities in Baku . He invested his first capital from the trade between Turkey and Nakhchivan in the real estate market of Baku. A few years later, after the unexpected increase in real estate prices, he made large profits.

Since mid-2000, Alizade has been establishing trade relations with the United Arab Emirates. As a result, he founded Azerbaijan's first investment company in the United Arab Emirates , engaged in the production and sale of computer and electronic equipment.

In the midst of 2014 he allegedly changed his family name from Aliyev to Alizade, as he mentioned to "avoid bearing a surname with Russian suffix".

Oil Sector

After starting his business in the United Arab Emirates, he started working in the oil sector. For this purpose, he founded the company Grand GmbH and engaged in trading activities and providing technical services to oil companies. This activity made him a partner of SOCAR. This partnership led to the establishment of the local SOCAR Trading AG, which sells Azerbaijani oil (Azeri Light) on the world market. Anar Alizade, who owns 25% of the shares, has held the positions of General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors for six years. In 2012, he sold all shares of SOCAR Trading AG to SOCAR.

Some time later, in 2007, he gathered all his companies under the company Union Grand Energy in Singapore and opened a representative office of this company in Baku.

Miscellaneous

Currently, Alizade heads several companies operating in the trade, operations, oil and construction sectors in Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Singapore. His main activities in Azerbaijan are increasing oil production in ground oil fields, drilling new oil fields and supplying them with modern equipment, participating in the Baku Ag Shahar project and supporting business initiatives among juniors.
