Career

[edit]

Martinez was previously a SourceLink Nebraska navigator, another NBDC program, where he assisted to connect small business owners and entrepreneurs to the resources they needed to start or grow their business. Other previous experience includes international sales, customer service, and marketing. [2][3][4][5]

In 2023, Martinez joined the Nebraska Small Business Development Center, part of America’s SBDC network, a nonprofit association representing the nation’s most extensive small business assistance network. SBDCs operate through partnerships with leading universities, colleges, state economic development agencies, and private organizations, funded in part by the United States Congress through the Small Business Administration.[6] In his role as a bilingual business consultant, Martinez has supported business owners across Nebraska at all stages of development, focusing on business planning, loan packaging, marketing, operations management, financial planning, and general business practices.[7] Martinez is also an active public member of NASBITE International, the main authority and benchmark for global business education, trade certifications, training, and professional practices. [8][9]

In 2024, Alan Martinez was awarded the America's SBDC State Star Award by his SBDC network. This prestigious honor is reserved for top performers who demonstrate outstanding contributions to their networks and show unwavering commitment to the success of America’s small businesses.[10][11]
