Akhtar Payami (1931-8 April 2013) was an Indian Pakistani poet and writer.[1][2][3] He had served as the editor of Dawn[4] and Morning News.[5][6]

Early life

Payami was born as Syed Sayeed Akhtar in February 1931 at Rajgir, Nalanda.[5]

He completed his Bachelors of Arts in Economics from Patna University.[5][7]
