He has represented Malaysia in prestigious championships such as Formula 3, the British GT Championship, TCR Asia, and the Thailand Super Series.[4] Adam is also the co-founder of ROYONG.io, a platform designed to foster social impact through digital advertising and innovative fundraising.[5][6]
Early Life and Background
[edit]Adam Khalid (birth-name: Khalid Adam bin Khalid Emran) was born on October 12, 1998, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Hometown: Terengganu, Malaysia).
He was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, into a family with strong ties to the automotive industry. He is the son of Dato’ Yatina binti Yahaya[7], the eldest daughter of Tan Sri Yahaya Ahmad, a pivotal figure in Malaysia’s automotive history and the former chairman of DRB-HICOM. Tan Sri Yahaya Ahmad played a crucial role in the development of Malaysia’s first national car, Proton, and the acquisition of Lotus Cars, positioning Malaysia as a key player in the global automotive market.[8]
Adam’s education began at Garden International School before he transitioned to the government school system at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Damansara (SKBD), where he completed his UPSR examinations.
He attended Sri Cempaka Schools in Bukit Damansara for his early secondary education before moving to the Australian International School Malaysia (AISM), where he completed his Higher School Certificate (HSC) and was elected school captain.[9] Later, he earned a scholarship to LimKokWing University, where he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, balancing his academics with a growing motorsport career.
Racing Career
[edit]Early Racing Years
[edit]Adam’s motorsport journey began with karting, where he quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent and competitiveness. His success in karting led to his debut in Formula BMW Asia,[10][11] where he had an outstanding rookie season, finishing second overall and claiming the Asian Formula BMW title.[12][13] This achievement earned him a place in the prestigious Renault F1 Young Talent Programme, marking his entry into professional racing.[14]
FIA Formula 4 and British F3
[edit]Building on his early success, Adam competed in FIA Formula 4 Asia and British F3, gaining invaluable experience on international circuits.
These stints showcased his adaptability and technical prowess, solidifying his reputation as one of Malaysia’s most promising young drivers.[1]
Adam Khalid’s association with the Hi-Rev Lubricants Racing Team was a defining period in his career, showcasing his versatility and leadership on and off the track. Joining the team as a Talent Development Driver[15], Adam quickly established himself as a cornerstone of the team’s success.[16] His technical expertise and racecraft were instrumental in transforming Hi-Rev Lubricants Racing from a fledgling outfit into a multi-championship-winning powerhouse.[17] Adam played a critical role in the team’s development, driving car performance improvements through his valuable technical feedback and consistent on-track results. His adaptability allowed him to excel in various racing formats, from sprint races to endurance events, securing multiple national touring car championships and consistent podium finishes for the team.[18][19] Adam's leadership and racing acumen elevated Hi-Rev's profile in the Malaysian motorsport scene, solidifying its reputation as a top-tier racing outfit.[20] In addition to his contributions on the track, Adam represented the team in the inaugural Sepang 1000KM endurance and Malaysian Championship Series sprint events, further expanding Hi-Rev’s reach and influence. [21] His efforts not only brought the team success but also positioned Hi-Rev as a platform for nurturing and showcasing young Malaysian racing talent.
Touring Cars and GT Racing

The IRL, a rapidly growing prototype racing series based in Asia, showcases top-tier talent and cutting-edge race cars on circuits across the country.
