Abdul Gani is a journalist based in Guwahati and he writes for The Assam Tribune. [1] Abdul writes mainly on sports and films apart from other human interest feature stories. Before joining The Assam Tribune full time, he used to work for different Indian and foreign publications since 2008.

His notable contributions appeared in Outlook magazine, The Times of India, Al Jazeera, The Telegraph, TRT World, Anadolu Agency, Guardian, The Bridge, The Federal and The News Mill among others. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]

Abdul is also known to wrote extensively on rural India, agriculture and gender issues in various platforms like Village Square, Scroll, The Wire, YourStory etc. [9] [10] [11]

He won Laadli Media & Advertising Award for gender issues in 2015-16 in New Delhi. [12] Abdul Gani also worked in a documentary 'Soccer Queens of Rani' with national award-winning filmmaker Utpal Borpujari. [13] [14]
