From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abbyson, also known as "Abbyson Living" or "Abbyson Home," is a family-owned furniture company based in Los Angeles, California.

Overview[edit]

Abbyson is an American home furnishings manufacturer that designs and sells home furnishings online through retailers and through its website and catalogs. The company is headquartered in Woodland Hills, California.

History[edit]

Abbyson, initially established as "Abbyson Living," dates back to its founding year in 1989 by entrepreneur Abby Rafieha. The foundation of Abbyson was inspired by Abby Rafieha's visit to Tibet, where he was impressed by the culture of the region. Rafieha also visited over 50 other countries in the next few years.

Over the first two decades of its existence, Abbyson designed and manufactured a huge collection of furniture, rugs, and other home products. In 2008, Abbyson launched an e-commerce drop-ship model, delivering home furnishings to a diverse clientele. Abbyson was one of the initial home furnishings companies to launch and deliver furniture across the United States.

In 2017, Abbyson opened premium showrooms in Las Vegas and High Point, North Carolina. These showrooms provided ideal spaces to showcase the company's products and served as hubs for industry professionals to experience Abbyson's products firsthand. In 2019, the company established a flagship distribution center in Redlands, California, structured on 2 million cubic feet.

Products & Sustainability

Abbyson sells home furniture and décor products such as sofas, sectionals, bedroom furniture, dining tables and chairs, patio furniture, media centers, rugs, and lighting.

According to Abbyson, the company does not source materials from endangered rainforests for its furniture and is moving towards more FSC-certified woods only. By 2025, Abbyson set a goal to have around 50% of its product line incorporate recycled materials.
