Draft:3Balance

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

3Balance.[1] is a self-custodial decentralized application for portfolio tracking and rebalancing. It is built on Ethereum blockchain, and also available on Arbitrum One[2], Base, Binance Smart Chain[3], Optimism, and Solana[4]. 3Balance uses smart contracts to automate portfolio rebalancing for crypto investors and traders.

Background

[edit]

3Balance is a DApp designed to facilitate the rebalancing of cryptocurrency portfolios. Launched in March 2024 by Qoda Finance, 3Balance enables users to adjust their asset allocations across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base[5]

The platform operates by allowing users to specify desired portfolio allocations, expressed as percentages of selected assets. Utilizing the 1inch aggregation protocol, 3Balance executes the necessary trades to realign the portfolio according to these specifications, ensuring optimal swap rates and minimizing gas fees. This process is completed in three steps: selecting tokens for rebalancing, setting target allocations, and executing the transactions.

In November 2024, the application underwent a rebranding to "3Balance," adopting a new visual identity to better align with its mission of becoming a leading DeFi portfolio management tool. The rebranding included a redesigned logo and updated color scheme, reflecting the platform's commitment to innovation and growth within the DeFi sector[6].

3Balance distinguishes itself by offering a user-friendly interface for portfolio management, enabling investors to maintain desired asset distributions without manual intervention. By automating the rebalancing process, the platform aims to assist users in managing risk and optimizing returns in the volatile cryptocurrency market.

3Balance is governed by QODA token holders who form the Qoda Decentralized Autonomous Organization (Qoda DAO)[7]

Integrations

[edit]

3Balance uses 1inch API to perform trades on the platform.

For Solana integration, 3Balance utilises Jupiter API[8].

The team also announced a future integration with Li.Fi for cross-chain rebalancing.

3Balance supports popular crypto wallets like Metamask, Phantom, etc.

History

[edit]

3Balance was launched in March, 2024. The first name of the DApp was Threebalance[6].

The DApp achieved $150,000 in trading volume in the first month after its launch[9].

In July, 2024, 3Balance expanded to its first non-EVM blockchain, Solana.

The dapp was rebranded in November, 2024. The release of 3Balance V2 is scheduled on December, 2024.
