On May 29, 2024, during the Israel–Hamas war, a vehicle-ramming attack occurred in the outskirts of Nablus, near the Itamar settlement. Two Israeli soldiers were killed in the attack. The perpetrator managed to flee back to the territory of the Palestinian Authority where he surrendered himself.[1]
Reactions
[edit]Hamas congratulated the attack, stating this was a "natural response to the crimes of the enemy". [2]
The Israeli Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich called for immediate government action against terrorism in the West Bank ″even if it means Tulkarem will look like Gaza looks today″.[3]
