Early life
[edit]Williams attended Basha High School in Chandler, Arizona. As a junior, he completed 68% of his passes for 2,339 yards and 23 touchdowns to just one interception, while also adding 764 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.[1] Coming out of high school, Williams was rated as a four-star recruit and the 19th overall quarterback in the class of 2024.[2] He received offers from schools such as Arizona, Auburn, BYU, Ole Miss, and Purdue.[3] On December 30, 2022, Williams committed to play college football for the Ole Miss Rebels.[4] However on July 7, 2023, Williams de-committed from the Ole Miss Rebels.[5] Williams later flipped his commitment to play for the Arizona Wildcats.[2]
College career
[edit]Williams enrolled early at Arizona.[6] After Arizona coach, Jedd Fisch, left to coach the Washington Huskies, Williams entered the transfer portal and followed Fisch to Washington.[7] He made his collegiate debut in the 2024 season opener where he completed three of his five passes for 28 yards and a touchdown, while also adding 17 yards on the ground as he helped the Huskies to a 35–3 win over Weber State.[8] In week three, Williams played sparingly versus rival Washington State where he completed three of four passes for 12 yards, while also rushing three times for 22 yards in a 24–19 loss.[9] He also started the 2024 Sun Bowl against Louisville, where they lost, 35-34.
