Career

[edit]

Ellis, a defender, began his career with Bradford City, where he spent 8 years.[2] He then spent 10 years with Guiseley, making 473 appearances for the club.[2][3] He later played with Harrogate Town,[4] where he served as club captain,[5] and Farsley Celtic,[6][7][8] where he also served as club captain.[9] He signed for Darlington in September 2021,[10][11][12] being released at the end of the season.[13][14]

After being released by Darlington, Ellis became manager of Guiseley,[15][16][17] where local media described his impact as a "revolution", with he club being "revitalsised",[18][19] after he made 7 new signings.[20] Ellis said he was "buzzing",[21] but left the club in November 2022 after a run of poor form.[22][23][24][25][26]

In January 2023 he returned to playing, signing for Liversedge.[27][28][29] In June 2023 he became an assistant manager at Farsley.[30]
