Chemena Kamali is a fashion designer. She became the creative director of fashion brand Chloé in 2023.

Early life and education

Kamali was born to Tony, who grew up in Iran, and Monika Kamali, from Germany. She grew up in Dortmund. Her family moved to Laguna Beach when she was 11 and later returned to Germany.[1]

Kamali studied at the University of Trier, where she met her future husband, Wehrum. Kamali interned at Chloé during Phoebe Philo's tenure, then studied for an MA at Central Saint Martins under Louise Wilson.[1]

Career

Kamali worked at Alberta Ferretti and then Strenesse before returning to Chloé. From 2016, she worked for Yves Saint Laurent. She then worked for Frame.[1]

In 2023, Kamali was invited to take the Directorship of Chloé, following from Gabriela Hearst.[1][2][3][4]

Personal life

Kamali lives in Paris with her husband and two children.[1]
