Cercle d'Études Scientifiques Pierre Rayer (CESR) is a French learned society founded in 2018 by Thierry Rayer. This association aims to enrich the fields of art, science and culture, named after Pierre Rayer, a prominent 19th-century physician and academician.

History

[edit]

CESR was created on August 8, 2018 as a non-profit organization under the French law of 1905. Its headquarters are located at 91 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris. The association draws its inspiration from the intellectual legacy of Pierre Rayer, whose library contains more than 10,000 volumes covering various fields such as science, medicine, history, and fine arts.

Mission and objectives

[edit]

The CESR aims to transmit scientific, artistic and cultural knowledge and to promote access to art and culture through conferences, workshops and artistic expertise and interpretations. The CESR has developed a methodology[1] “Universæ Analysis”, using an interdisciplinary scientific approach registered with the INPI.[2] This methodology makes it possible to interpret art and architecture by integrating various disciplines such as biology, geometry, Egyptology, and religious studies.[3]

Activities

[edit]

CESR's main activities include the appraisal of works of art, carrying out missions for museums and other cultural institutions, advising on the acquisition of works of art, organizing conferences and workshops, and promoting artistic education for young people. The association is also involved in humanitarian and patronage missions. CESR[4] is a patron of the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Louvre Abu Dhabi,[5] affirming its commitment to the preservation of world cultural heritage.

Universæ analysis

[edit]

The "Universæ Analysis" methodology was presented at the Vision Golfe[6] 2024 event under the high patronage of President Emmanuel Macron. This event, organized by Business France at the Ministry of Economy, aimed to strengthen international cooperation between France and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Members

[edit]

The CESR brings together scientists, researchers, and experts from various fields, as well as ambassadors to UNESCO. The permanent presidency is held by Thierry Rayer, assisted by Jean-Michel Bourgeois as Secretary General.
