In 2004, Central Pacific Financial Corporation acquired CB Bancshares, Inc.[3] CB Bancshares' main subsidiary was City Bank of Honolulu, and it traded on NASDAQ under CBBI ticker. The management of CB Bancshares opposed the acquisition.[4]
