Naming Convention
[edit]Are there any guidelines for the naming of Wikipedia articles about UK urban areas? Should they be named by the most popular term or as designated by the UK Government. Local people living in these areas identify with their own towns and settlements within the area and not really the wider 'urban area'. The reason that these urban areas are defined are for census, environmental and economic purposes. --Steve 11:52, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- This category is for urban areas in the more abstract sense as used by the government for planning purposes. The towns and cities themselves belong in Category:Cities in the United Kingdom and category:Towns in the United Kingdom. Abberley2 13:25, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
