Change of this pages categories to include Category:Israel
Issues regarding territorial disputes are a central concern of Israel. I made a related change to Categories with explanation which was then reverted with no comment. A replacement Category of Borders of Israel quite literally and incorrectly marginalises an issue of great importance. Gregkaye (talk) 10:11, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Regular ways of categorization apply here regardless of perceived importance. I see no reason here not to categorize the cat in it's natural parent cat and in a way that is done across the tree generally and consistently. Seems rather POV to change this to try to highlight something one editor deems to be particularly salient. There are lots of topics that one could argue are important or central to Israel. That doesn't mean we need to bump them all up to appear in Category:Israel and thereby disrupt the regular category tree. This doesn't mean we are "marginalising" any particular topic. It just means we're categorising consistently and in a NPOV manner rather than being guided by what individual editors want to highlight. Good Ol’factory(talk)10:29, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
