I AM A RETIRED, GENERAL MOTORS, DESIGNER, CHIEF DESIGNER IN MANY POSITIONS, IN MANY STUDIOS, INCLUDING CADILLAC AND CHEVROLET EXTERIOR DESIGN. I WAS ASSIGNED TO BE DIRECTOR OF DESIGN FOR GM EUROPE, OPEL DESIGN, IN 1992. I RETURNED TO to the USA to BE DIRECTOR DESIGN FOR CHEVROLET CARS IN 1997. I WORKED ON OVER 140 CAR DESIGN PROGRAMS AT GM DESIGN DURING MY EMPLOYMENT. CARS THAT I WORKED ON OR WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR WON A NUMBER OF CAR OIF THE YEAR AWARDS INCLUDING THE 1966 OLDSMOBILE TORONADO AND THE 1992 CADILLAC SEVILLE, AWARDED BY THE INDUSTRIAL DESIGN SOCIETY OF AMERICA for excellence in design.
I was also the Chief Designer of the International Design Studio AT GM DESIGN that created the GM X-Car Program. Bob Eaton, was the Chief Engineer and I was the Chief Designer. For GM Europe, a special achievement was the OPEL MAXX, the only extruded aluminum car ever created that was done as a concept and first shown at the Geneva Motor Show. It received outstanding press throughout the world and was declared a Concept Classic 25 years later. DICK RUZZIN (talk) 01:09, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
