Candidate for merging
[edit]Category:Nontrinitarian denominations
[edit]- Propose merging Category:Nontrinitarian denominations to Category:Antitrinitarianism
- Nominator's rationale: Merge.
The contents of both overlap to a large degree. However, Antitrinitarianism as the broader definition, encompasses not just denominations, but also the theologies and the "isms" that lie behind the denominations. I see no reason to have denominations as a child of Antitrinitarianism as the two would always want to be read together. Laurel Lodged (talk) 13:18, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- Nontrinitarianism actually has the broader definition, encompassing denominations, theologies, and other "isms" such as antitrinitarianism.
Recommend 1. Rename "Category:Antitrinitarianism" to "Category:Nontrinitarianism"; 2. Retain Category:Nontrinitarian denominations; 3. Move specific denomination articles into Category:Nontrinitarian denominations.
See Category talk:Antitrinitarianism#Candidate for merging.--AuthorityTam (talk) 16:25, 20 December 2010 (UTC) - I've closed the Nontrinitarian denominations nomination as keep. If you'd like to nominate Category:Antitrinitarianism, please do so.--Mike Selinker (talk) 23:28, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Move denominations
[edit]Editors may have seen Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2010 December 10#Category:Nontrinitarian denominations and Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2010 December 29#Category:Antitrinitarianism#Category:Antitrinitarianism; that accomplished step 1..
Now, it seems advisable to proceed with steps 2. and 3.:
- 1. Rename "Category:Antitrinitarianism" to "Category:Nontrinitarianism";
- 2. Retain Category:Nontrinitarian denominations;
- 3. Move specific denomination articles into Category:Nontrinitarian denominations.
Any discussion before that proceeds? --AuthorityTam (talk) 21:09, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- The first category does not exist. I've already tried to move all the denomination articles over but if I've missed any, be my guest. Mangoe (talk) 21:19, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Remove one from the list
[edit]Grace Communion International is alphabetized under W because its old name was Worldwide Church of God. But it should not be in this list at all, because it accepted Trinitarian doctrine in 1993. See www.gci.org/aboutus/beliefs for the current statement. It should not be in this category at all.64.208.29.125 (talk) 23:11, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
