Hi. If I have any stalkers out there, I know you're probably awfully tired of hearing me harp on this point so much. Why was this category created just for Scott McAdams? I can think of Marko Dapcevich and Ben Grussendorf immediately off the top of my head as former mayors of Sitka who, in someone's mind, didn't need to be included here. I'll go ahead and take care of that for you, right away. RadioKAOS (talk) 08:53, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, I get like that sometimes. Since they've been acknowledged, here's some more mayors:
  • William Sumner Dodge - may have been "Sitka's first mayor," under the "provisional city government" set up in the years immediately following the Alaska Purchase - actual incorporation wasn't available until 1900, and Sitka didn't first incorporate until 1913
  • Richard I. Eliason - preceded Grussendorf in the Alaska House of Representatives before moving to the Alaska Senate - was president of the Senate in his last two years at the same time Grussendorf was House speaker, the first time ever the leaders of both houses came from the same community
  • John W. O'Connell - he of John O'Connell Bridge fame
  • Benjamin D. Stewart - was also mayor of Juneau and a signer of the Alaska Constitution
All notable, though mostly for activities other than being mayor of Sitka.RadioKAOS (talk) 19:14, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
