Proposed deletion: Jewish American actors/actresses

[edit]

The categories involving Jewish American actors and actresses are being proposed for deletion. If you have an opinion, either way, you can post your comment at: Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2013 September 11#Jewish American actors. Liz Read! Talk! 14:06, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I say it should stay, the title has a nice ring to it, when said. The "male" part just seems to make one syllable too many. Besides, actresses separates the female ones from them enough already. --ShortTermer (talk) 01:08, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I want to put the most memorable back under this one. --ShortTermer (talk) 16:59, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That is not the way the category system works. In the CFD discussion linked above, there was a clear consensus to keep Category:Jewish American male actors, so it will remain populated unless and until consensus changes.
Please respect the WP:CONSENSUS; it is how decisions are made on Wikipedia. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 19:16, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's time the two subcategories be merged into one category just called Jewish American actors. It's odd that one page uses "male actors" and one page uses "actresses," and the term actresses is moving out of common use anyway. There are also at least two people in this category that are neither male nor female. 45.45.60.28 (talk) 17:34, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
