I dont understand how to modify category pages but there are additional hillforts in Somerset, while Dunster and Castle Cary are Norman castles not hill forts. The additional hillforts are :-
Bat's Castle Black Ball Camp Blacker's Hill Bury Castle Castle Neroche Clatworthy Camp Cow Castle Kenwalch's Castle Kingsdown Camp

- Thanks for this - you add items to the category by adding Category:Hill forts in Somerset at the bottom of relevant artciles - they then appear in the cat.
- Bat's Castle doesn't have an article but is mentioned in Carhampton, Somerset
- Black Ball Camp doesn't have an article - but is mentioned in Dunster (& I think this is why Dunster appears in this cat)
- Blacker's Hill doesn't have an article - have you more info on location, history etc
- Bury Castle, Somerset doesn't have an article - have you more info on location, history etc
- Castle Neroche does have an article & is listed in the cat
- Clatworthy Camp doesn't have an article - is it near Clatworthy reservoir?
- Cow Castle doesn't have an article - have you more info on location, history etc
- Kenwalch's Castle doesn't have an article - have you more info on location, history etc
- Kingsdown Camp doesn't have an article - have you more info on location, history etc
Castle Cary does not appear in the category. If you feel you have enough information from reliable sources to start these new articles please do.— Rod talk 15:44, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. I have started articles on each of the hillforts, with references. Further information on their history is desirable but I don't have it available. It may well be available in VCH Somerset. Though Castle Cary is not in the Category, Cary Castle is! Adresia (talk) 22:01, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Remove from Somerset forts category
[edit]I think this category should be removed from the Forts in Somerset category, as the meaning of ancient and modern forts is quite distinct. Most other counties do not include hill forts
See [1] for the uneven pattern. Ditto Cornwall. Vicarage (talk) 07:05, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
