@TJMSmith: Hey, in creating this category, you defined it as "relatives of Seth Eastman". Is there a reason we wouldn't go broader and make it all of the relevant descendants of Roger Eastman, who came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in the 1630s? There are at least 4 or 5 articles for Wisconsin people who that fit that category. Probably more in other states. -- Asdasdasdff (talk) 05:49, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It would have to be a defining (WP:COPDEF) characteristic for anyone categorized in a larger Eastman descendant category. I do not know about Roger Eastman or if being a descendant of his meets that defining characteristic requirement. TJMSmith (talk) 22:28, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think what might be warranted is a sort of collection page like this one (Fairchild family) that could then become the new definition for this category. There's quite a lot of people in this family tree that already have their own articles, and I think it would be a useful categorization to group them based on their shared ancestry. -- Asdasdasdff (talk) 00:06, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
