New category
[edit]I have created this new category to better fit with the renaming of the Move to Wikimedia Commons template to Copy to Wikimedia Commons. The text of the category was taken from Category:Move to Wikimedia Commons. See Template_talk:Copy_to_Wikimedia Commons for the reasons for this. --Xyzzyplugh 01:56, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- This category contains over 6000 images. - Aiko (talk) 10:18, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
TUSC ID
[edit]Now you need to TUSC ID to use commons helper it's not a surprise...I can't seem to get it to work for meย :( Million_Moments (talk) 17:11, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- TUSC ID is optional. Log into Commons then use the Get text button in Commons Helper: it requires a manual save to your desktop, and the rest of the move is automated. --InfantGorilla (talk) 05:59, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
List of files comparison
[edit]Awhile (April 14th) ago i requested a "comparison" of the files in this category and here are the results
- A. Files that are lacking a
{{Information}}
template. (Results) - B. Files that are tagged with both
{{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}}
and{{Should be SVG}}
. (Results)
The reasons I requested these is that files with a Information
template are "easier" to transfer over because they useally have a descriptive file name if they need it and so that others knows what it is displaying, and the second report is because {{Convert to SVG and copy to Wikimedia Commons}}
which is a combination of both those templates puts the file into a seperate category so that people can work on those seperately.
So perhaps we could:
- A. Work on getting the files tagged with the
Information
template so they are easier for people to transfer over to commons (and rename if needed). - B. Put in a BOTREQ for the second report so that a bot move all the files with both the templates to the combined template (
{{Convert to SVG and copy to Wikimedia Commons}}
) so they are put in the seperate category since they need work completed first before they are transfered.
What do you people think? Peachey88 (Talk Pageย ยท Contribs) 07:40, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- It is a good idea, but the links you provide are broken. emijrp (talk) 11:38, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Request for Comments: c:
link prefix for Wikimedia Commons
[edit]There is a cross-wiki discussion in progress as to whether c:
should be enabled globally as an interwiki prefix for links to the Wikimedia Commons. If the proposal gains consensus this will require the deletion or renaming of several pages on the English WIkipedia whose titles begin with "C:", including one or more redirects to this page. Please take a moment to participate in the discussion.
There is also a related discussion on the English Wikipedia at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2014 February 16#C:ATT to which you are invited to contribute.
