  • It is a relatively compact range between Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald, Seefeld in Tirol, and Ehrwald.
The boundary for the region is based on the definition of the Northern Limestone Alps and its subdivision into individual ranges according to the Alpine Club classification of the Eastern Alps (AVE). By this definition the Gutenstein Alps are bounded by the line: Gölsen -- Hainfeld -- Gerstbach -- Kaumberg -- Kaumbergbach -- Triesting -- Steinfeld -- Neunkirchen -- Ternitz -- Sierning -- Puchberg -- Sebastiansbach -- Mamauwiese -- Klausgaben -- Klostertaler Gscheid -- Voisbach -- Schwarza -- Tiesentalerbach -- Trauchbach -- Wassertal -- Seebach -- St.Ägyd/Neuwald -- Unrecht-Traisen -- Traisen to its confluence with the Gölsen www.bergalbum.de.
