Northern Mariana Islands (1978–). In most cases, treaties that are to apply to the Northern Mariana Islands are concluded and ratified by the federal government of the United States and extended to the Northern Mariana Islands; these are found in Category:Treaties extended to the Northern Mariana Islands. On select occasions, however, the government of the Northern Mariana Islands has been authorized to conclude and ratify treaties for itself.
