This category includes the native lichens of Papuasia, in tropical Asia. Taxa are included at region level if widely found in the region.

For the purposes of this category, "Papuasia" is defined in accordance with the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions (and adopted here for use with lichen flora). That is, the geographic region is defined by the political boundaries of its constituents, which in this case are islands:

• The Bismarck Archipelago (code BIS)
• New Guinea (code NWG), including
  • the region of Western New Guinea or Irian Jaya (code NWG-IJ), which includes the Aru Islands
  • the country of Papua New Guinea (code NWG-PN)
• The Solomon Islands (code SOL), including
  • the North Solomons (code SOL-NO)
  • the South Solomons (code SOL-SO)

(The Bismarck Archipelago and New Guinea were previously included in Malesia.)
