==Early life==

Bupenda Meitei started composing poems at the age of seven in his own mother tongue,[[Manipuri]] language writing in a [[Bengali language|Bengali]] script. Since his school days ,he has been with his poems and writings in English particularly. Besides writing,oratory was his great skill in making him a students' leader in his schools.He started a life of physics teacher in [[Dehradun]] at the age of 22 but left the formal teaching to focus in works for the Indian National Congress Party.
