The family of Warren Buffett, an American investor, has been prominent in business, philanthropy, politics and academia over five generations.
Warren Buffett's father Howard Homan Buffett (1903–1964) served four terms in the United States House of Representatives, representing Nebraska. His grandfather, Ernest P. Buffett (1877–1946) was president of the Omaha Grocers' Association. Buffett's older sister, Doris Buffett (1928–2020), was a prominent philanthropist, as are all three of his children. His grandson, Howard Warren Buffett is an academic as well as a philanthropist.[1]
