Bishnu Prashad Government High School is a government high school located in the district town of Panchagarh. This school was established in 1944.

History

The school was established in 1944 by Bishnu Prashad Sen, the then zamindar of Panchagarh. It was nationalized in 1981 and renamed Bishnu Prashad Government High School. In 2011, the school introduced two shifts. Currently, it has 1,260 students under the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Dinajpur.[1]

Academics

The school currently has 20 sections across five grades, from 6th to 10th grade. Of these, 10 sections are in the morning shift, and 10 are in the day shift.

The school has laboratories for subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and agriculture, equipped with valuable instruments for student research. These tools are used to enhance students' practical knowledge. Additionally, the school boasts a large library that houses thousands of renowned books. Students can comfortably read there and also borrow books to take home for a specified period.

Extracurricular Activities

There is a playground for students, located in front of the main building. The playground is used for the school's annual sports competition and cultural events.

Various cultural activities are held throughout the year at the school. National events are observed with due respect, and students and teachers come together to celebrate different occasions. An educational tour is also organized annually.
