Bhasarvajna (Sanskrit: भासर्वज्ञ, Romanised: Bhāsarvajña) was an Indian philosopher during the period of 10th century CE.[1][2] He was an eminent Naiyayika.[3] He was the author of the treatise Nyayasara on the Nyaya school of Indian Philosophy.[4][5][6]

Early life

[edit]

Bhasarvajna was born in a Brahmin family. According to Vidyabhushna, Bhasarvajna must be from the Kashmir region of the Indian subcontinent. He was a devotee of Lord Shiva. According to the chronology of the Naiyayikas, Bhasarvajna is considered to be lived long before the Naiyayika Udayanacharya.[7]
