Better Than the Rest is the third album of songs by American blues rock band George Thorogood and the Destroyers, recorded in 1974 and released in September 1979.[4] The album peaked at No. 78 on the Billboard Top LPs chart.[5][6][7]
Background and recording
[edit]Better Than the Rest was recorded sometime in September 1974,[7] when Thorogood was in a production agreement with Danny Lipman.[8] At the time, Thorogood was an unknown artist and wasn't signed to any label.[9]
According to Thorogood, the band didn't have anything to do with Better Than the Rest, as they didn't own the masters to the album.[10]
Release
[edit]MCA Records released Better Than the Rest in September 1979.[4][7][11] The album peaked at No. 78 on the Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart.[5][6][7]
CD reissue
[edit]In 1986, the songs from this album were released on compact disc with the title Nadine, in a different track order.[12] Better Than The Rest itself was never reissued on CD.
