The Battle of Hannik was a battle between the Funj Sultanate and the Ottoman Empire at Hannik, resulting in a Funj Victory.[2][3]
Background
[edit]The Ottoman Empire declared war on the Funj Sultanate in 1525. The Ottoman Empire first seized Suakin. Suakin then was captured by Portugal from the Ottoman Empire during the Ottoman-Portuguese war.
Aftermath
[edit]In 1590, the war ends with the Ottomans stopping their invasion of the Funj Sultanate.
