Balanovac is a village in the municipality of Knjaževac, Serbia. In 2002, it had a population of 328.[1]

The Festing Building

At the entrance to the village stands the Church of St. John the Baptist (Serbian: Црква Светог Јована Претече). The village also contains the ruin of the Festing Building. It was an important gathering place for the community in Balanovac.

Graveyard of the Fallen

The Graveyard of the Fallen contains the grave of Lidija Antić. There is also sculpture of a table with a cup in a pathc of white sand, memorializing Antić. It is a local custom to place a little Serbian wine on the table as a tribute to the fallen.
