Balakair Paddabil is a wetland region located at Balakair of Karpara Union under Gopalganj Sadar Upazila in Gopalganj District, Bangladesh.[1][2] Balakair Paddabil is renowned as a tourist attraction due to the presence of the Lotus flower, located in an area of approximately 1,000 bighas (2.5 km²) of wetland.[3][4][5] It is the only area in Bangladesh known to contain the lotus flower. Domestic and international tourists are attracted to Balakair Paddabil during the lotus flower season.[6]

Tourist attraction
[edit]A 'Padda Fuler Mela' fair is held annually to attract tourists. Various national dailies cover this event in both electronic and print media.[7]
