Awhitu is a rural settlement on the Āwhitu Peninsula in New Zealand.[1]

History

Awhitu was governed by the Awhitu Road District Board before amalgamating with Franklin County in 1915. Awhitu became one of eight ridings of Franklin County.[2]

Education

Awhitu District School is a coeducational full primary schools (years 1–8) with a roll of 118 students as of November 2024.[3][4]
