The sixth cycle of Australia's Next Top Model is an Australian reality television program which is broadcast on the Australian subscription television channel, FOX8. The cycle premiered on July 20, 2010.[1] Auditions were held during January 2010 across Australia. Sarah Murdoch reprised her role as host and lead judge for this cycle.

Season summary

A few major changes were made this season. The contestants were increased to 16 from 13 in standard seasons. Jez Smith returned as part of the judging panel since the third cycle. Jonathan Pease was replaced by fashion icon Josh Flinn, due to former's work conflicts.[2] The model house is located on 20 Hunter St, in Sydney's eastern suburb of Dover Heights.

Requirements

Like the past three years, contestants must be aged between 16 and 23 at the time of filming. Those auditioning have to be at least 172 cm or 5'7.5" tall. In the past, contestants have weighed less than 60 kg. It is more desirable for contestants to suit these weight pre-requisites as plus-sized models are not common in Australia and local (or in some cases international) designers require models to fit their clothes made for an Australian size 8 or less. However, there is no restriction on weight.

Prizes

The prizes for the season included representation by Australia’s premiere modeling agency Priscilla's Model Management for twelve months, a A$25,000 contract to be the face of jeans brand Levi’s; a trip to New York to meet with top modelling agency, Elite Model Management; a Ford Fiesta Zetec; A$20,000 courtesy of U by Kotex and an exclusive eight page editorial and cover in fashion magazine, Harper’s Bazaar.[3]

The challenge this week is based at the Viva festival being curated by Lou Reed, where the girls must pose and hold it still until the lights change continuously for two hours. In the midst of the challenge a reporter comes around talking to the girls when most don't respond but Amanda and Brittney did not instructed of talking to the reporter and made their mistake. Kimberley and Kelsey are the best of the challenge with Kelsey winning a getaway at a 5-star hotel leaving Kimberley disappointed.

After announcing the winner, Sarah Murdoch, emphasises the fact that they need to get some "beauty" sleep for the photo shoot tomorrow leading to the inevitable beauty shot focusing on their hair transformations.
