Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
[edit]On 11 September 2009, during an episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Ufodike, a 36-year-old contestant, introduced himself to the host, Frank Edoho, and then proceeded to answer each question.[3] It wasn't until the 14th question, worth 5 million Naira, that Ufodike used his first lifeline. He asked the audience, and the most popular answer matched his choice. To be certain, he also used the 50/50 lifeline, which confirmed his answer. With another correct response, he advanced to the final question – the 10 million Naira question. No one had ever won the 10 million Naira prize before, and only one other contestant had ever reached this stage.[4]

Ufodike's final question was "Professor Maathai Wangari won the Nobel Prize for which of these?" A) Literature B) Economics C) Peace D) Medicine. He decided to use his last lifeline, Phone-A-Friend. Despite repeating the question several times, the reception was poor, and he could barely hear his friend's response. He had to ask the host to repeat what his friend said – “Peace.” After asking for some water to drink, he decided to go with his friend's advice and chose “Peace.”[5]
