Alliance Lepep

Alliance Lepep (or Alliance of the People) is the name of a coalition of parties in the island state of Mauritius.

History

The Alliance Lepep was formed in 2014 by former President and Prime Minister of Mauritius, Anerood Jugnauth in preparation for the 2014 Mauritian general election, which was held on 10 December 2014.[1]

The main political parties which formed part of the coalition were:

During the electoral campaign Alliance Lepep nominated scientist Ameenah Gurib-Fakim as the proposed President of Mauritius.[2]
