Alejandro Sánchez Pereira (born 24 April 1980) is a Uruguayan politician, serving as Senator of the Republic in the 49th Legislature. A member of the Movement of Popular Participation – Broad Front. He was chosen by president-elect Yamandú Orsi to serve as the 20th Secretary of the Presidency in the Orsi administration, set to begin in March 2025.[1]
Early life
[edit]Sánchez was born in Montevideo in 1980, the son of two farmers' market vendors and supporters of the Broad Front.[2] He has a younger brother, Daniel. Raised in Peñarol-Lavalleja, he attended public schools in his neighborhood.[3]
