Afsane Hesamifard (Persian: افسانه حسامی‌فرد) (born December 26, 1976, in Sabzevar, Iran[1]) is an Iranian doctor, professional mountain climber, 3rd degree mountain climbing coach, and mountain medicine instructor.

Life

She was born on December 26, 1976, in Sabzevar, Iran. She graduated from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences with a degree in general medicine.[2]

Climbing

She is the first ever Iranian woman who has reached the top of k2 peak. She climbed Mount Everest on May 14, 2022. So far with the support of vitabiotics company, she has climbed 11 out of 14 mountains that are over 8000 meters: Manaslu, Everest, K2,[3][4] Broad Peak, Annapurna I;[5] Lhotse, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, Nanga Parbat, Makalu, Shishapangma.
