The Afghanistan national under-17 football team is controlled by the Afghanistan Football Federation and represents Afghanistan in international under-17 football competitions. The team had properly qualified for the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship, but were disqualified from the tournament for fielding an ineligible player in the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship qualification.

Draw

The draw of the final tournament will be on 23 January 2025 at the AFC Hall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 16 teams will be drawn into four groups of four teams, with the teams seeded according to their performance in the 2023 AFC U-17 Asian Cup final tournament and qualification, with the hosts Saudi Arabia automatically seeded and assigned to Position A1 in the draw.

The CAFA U-17 Championship is an international football competition contested by the Central Asian men's under-17 national teams of the CAFA member associations. The competition began in 2023, with  Tajikistan winning the inaugural competition.
