Abdanan County (Persian: شهرستان آبدانان)[a] is in Ilam province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Abdanan.[3] The previous capital of the county was the village of Sarabbagh,[4] (now a city).[5] The county is populated by Kurds and Lurs.[6]

After the 2006 National Census, the village of Sarabbagh was elevated to the status of a city.[5] In 2013, some villages in the former Cham Kabud Rural District were transferred to Jaber-e Ansar Rural District of the Central District and some to the newly established Vach Kabud Rural District in Sarab Bagh District.[7]
