Aatral Ashok Kumar

Ashok Kumar (born 5 June 1970), popularly known as Aatral Ashok Kumar is an Indian politician who is a member of Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhakam (AIADMK).[1][2]

Early life

Ashok Kumar was born to Prof. R. Arumugam, a retired mathematics professor from Government Arts College[3],and Mrs.K. S. Soundram.,a former professor at Kongu Nadu Arts College[4] who later became a Member of Parliament for the Tiruchengodu Constituency (currently the Erode Constituency) in 1991.

Personal life

Ashok Kumar is married to Karunambika Kumar, the daughter of C. Saraswathi, a Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly representing the Modakurichi assembly constituency (Erode district) since 2021.[5]

Political career

In the 2024 general election of India, Ashok Kumar contested as a candidate[6][7][8] for the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). Representing the party, he secured 323,751 votes and finished in second place in his constituency[9][10]
