2024 Lakki Marwat bombing

On 9 June 2024, an improvised explosive device (IED) killed 7 Pakistani soldiers.[1] The device exploded near a security convoy in Lakki Marwat, a district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan.[2] No group claimed responsibility.[3]

On 11 June 2024, the Pakistani army reportedly killed 11 militants in response to the bombing.[4] The overnight operation was conducted in a former stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban.[5]
