The 1881 Gate, or Class of 1881 Gate, is a gate installed at Harvard Yard, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States.[1] According to Harvard, the gate encourages students to "come within its gates, in order that in whole-hearted service to the truth, they may enter into life and so be free".[2] The gate has been locked for many years.[3][4]
