Articles that look like shit and need to be fixed

See Also Section at Krampus

Hello. So, you've been reverting my edits over at the Krampus page. You stated "there is a policy on you deciding what is the most important link in the SA section" and cited WP:OR. Actually, per WP:SEEALSO, "Whether a link belongs in the 'See also' section is ultimately a matter of editorial judgment and common sense". In other words, we're supposed to use our best judgment. Now, the reordering was done to keep figures that are most relevant—those which are comparable and within the same language family—up front. The link to the Japanese figure is very much WP:OR as it stands, whereas the others are explicitly connected by way of linguistic relation. :bloodofox: (talk) 06:37, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Whether it belongs there at all is certainly a matter of editorial judgment and consensus, but listing it in a certain order because you decide that one of the listings is more important than others goes beyond that. In any case, you made a Bold edit and it was Reverted by me, so, per WP:BRD your next step is to discuss it, not with me, necessarily, but on the talk page of the article. If a consensus of the commenters there agree with you, so be it, but in the meantime the article stays in the status quo ante, again per BRD. BMK (talk) 07:34, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not start an editing war about this. The depicting of the 1866 church does not really fit into the history section. Instead it should be in the architecture section, as it depicts the church in its original state. If you believe it "does not work" based on some clearly state wikipedia-page design instruction, please provide a reference to that. If it your sense of "does not work" is soley based on your personal preference and feelings about style, please do not keep undoing my work on this page. Sincerely with peace and collaboration in mind - always yours Kateypup (talk) 18:48, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your saying that an historical picture of the church "does not fit into the history section"? That's really just plain sily. OF course it fits, and, again, it actually fits, whereas it does not fit were you are trying to put it. It makes the article look like a complete mess. Trust me on this, you're wrong. BMK (talk) 18:50, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I am not trusting you on this - as you are not the beholder, editor, and judge on aesthetics. Buy the way, I put the original image of the 1866 building there. Where you place it at the end of the history section - it does not fit. There if no relation to the text. Putting it into the architecture section, where it states that the church was build in 1849-50, it makes sense to have a picture of the church there, next to the text. Trust me on this. Alternatively, I could see it go into the info box on the top right, and moving the 2012 photo to the end of the history section. Would that be OK with you. As always in peace and in collaborative spirit (this is a page about a house of God after all) Kateypup (talk) 18:59, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
See your talk page, and stop edit warring,. Read WP:BRD. BMK (talk) 19:01, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciation for Support

Hey there, BYK, I just want ed to express my appreciation for your support at the Move discussion at Talk:Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. I'm not sure what I could have or should have done differently. I guess I'm a little surprised it was an issue at all. I wouldn't have thought popular opinion or even consensus would have worked against established policies. Anyway, thanks again, and hope you enjoy success and satisfaction in your other editing activities. - Boneyard90 (talk) 01:18, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Your argument that the name could not be typed on the keyboard was what convinced me. What's the good of an article name that can't be searched for? I'm sorry that other editors didn't see it that way, but on Wikipedia, you win some and you lose some. You can always try again in the future, although I'd let some time pass before you do so. Best, BMK (talk) 01:22, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Collect essay; second bite at the cherry

You participated in an MfD discussion about an essay by Collect that was in mainspace. The result was userfy and it was moved to user space accordingly. The essay has been moved back to mainspace. There is a discussion as to whether it should be renamed and moved. The discussion is here. Writegeist (talk) 00:43, 17 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe I'm missing something, but did you really mean [1] "bemused"? [2] EEng 13:41, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No, you're right, I was reaching for a synonym for "mildly amused" and missed, appallingly so. Thanks. BMK (talk) 14:11, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Don't worry about it. All my life I said things like "He had a bemused look on his face" and it wasn't until I was 50 I realized I was saying something quite different from what I meant to say. EEng 18:41, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, well, I don't want you to get the impression it's just a question of the number of words... um... I mean, getting them in the right order is just as important. EEng 21:05, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
