Ambiorix Burgos (Born April 19, 1984 Nagua, Dominican Republic) is a young right handed pitcher for the Kansas City Royals baseball team. In 2005 he made his Major League debut appearing in 59 games. Despite him only pitching in 60 innings as a reliever he managed to be 10th in the league for wild pitches. In 2005 Burgos had the highest average fastball for relief in the American League at 96.5 mph and posted an ERA of 3.90. Burgos started the 2006 season as the Royals' closer, with Mike MacDougal on the disabled list
