Images

[edit]

Thanks for uploading images to Wikipedia. In one of your edit summary you state that you are the photographer, please specify this on each of the image pages. Also you state that you release the images for "non-commercial use". This is not, unfortunately, acceptable for Wikipedia, as Wikipedia does allow its content to be put to commercial use. Please release the images into the public domain or under the GFDL license. If you cannot do this, please do not upload the images. Best regards. --RobertGtalk 10:09, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Berktownhall.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Berktownhall.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Images on Commons?

[edit]

Some very nice pictures of Berkhamsted. Would you consider uploading future images to Wikimedia Commons rather than just to the English Wikipedia? The advantage of uploading there is that they can be used on other Wiki projects as well as on the English encyclopedia. To use images on Commons here you use exactly the same syntax. The system goes off and automatically pulls up the Commons image if can't find one locally. If I can help in any way, do ask. Best regards --MichaelMaggs 07:57, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's a lovely photograph. Nice one! SilkTork 11:07, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Winstainforth, thanks for completing the "Chemotaxis" page with the external link of the pdf file about the mathematical approaches of chemotaxis. Are you working on the field of chemotaxis??? If yes, please reply to me as my research group is working also on the mathematical modelling of chemotaxis. Best regards from Kohlasz 20:18, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Ayles00205A.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
