Info on image, please

[edit]

Please go to Image:MarionTinsley.jpg and edit that image description page to give the source (URL, if online; ISBN, if scanned from a book; and if you've taken the image yourself, just say so) and the licensing status (the list of image copyright tags might be useful) of this image. All our images should have this information. Thank you. Lupo 10:14, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, not bad now. Maybe give a direct link to the Tinsley page at UC Alberta (Chinook team). If you want to do it really well, you might try asking Jonathan Shaeffer whether he could release the image under a free license such as the GFDL (see e.g. our boilerplate requests for permission), I've found that academic people often agree to license their images under the GFDL. Of course, maybe that Tinsley image is copyrighted by someone else altogether... Lupo 07:46, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

BJAODN

[edit]

No problem! It made me laugh, and I thought it was perfect for BJAODN because it was so short and snappy. —Keenan Pepper 11:49, 7 April 2006 (UTC) Foo[reply]

Your grandfather

[edit]

Sorry about that - what's the IP in question?

(And if you give me a few minutes, I could probably come up with a way to explain it to your grandfather.) DS 16:00, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation

[edit]

It'll probably be easier to give you the explanation via e-mail - can you activate your "e-mail this user" setting? DS 16:19, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your suggestion

[edit]

Unfortunately, the workaround you suggested is not yet feasible; there's some debate over whether it should be implemented at all, in fact (questions of abuse...). AOL blocks are never supposed to be for more than a half-hour or so, though - enough time for the "prank caller" to get bored. DS 18:10, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Have you tried looking if anyone from the list of http://wikitravel.org/wiki/en/index.php?title=Special%3AListusers&group=sysop&username= is available? - Mgm|(talk) 10:06, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good news

[edit]

The workaround has been implemented; registered users can continue to edit even when anonymous users from that IP have been blocked. DS 12:49, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:SLA_DeFreezeFBI(180).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MECUtalk 00:01, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
