Fair and Accuracy

[edit]

Looks like wikipedia administrators finally realized he wasn't very fair or accurate, after all.  ;-) Unfortunately it took several months longer than it reasonably should have. Lawyer2b 15:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What can I say? The wheels of justice, they turn slowly, but they're still faster than the Wikipedia bureaucracy. :p This is the first I've heard of it; I've been avoiding political articles lately. Rogue 9 07:59, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User: Anarcho-Capitalism unblock

[edit]

I saw you unblock User: Anarcho-capitalism who was blocked as being thought of as Billy Ego's sock-puppet.

I was wondering if you could look over User: Instantiayion, he was also banned as a Billy Ego sock-puppet, I was having a debate with him over in Talk:Planned economy that I'm pretty sure was about to be resolved until the sudden ban.

Thanks, Fephisto 12:45, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um... What? I'm not an administrator; I can't unblock anyone. I'm not saying I wouldn't have in that case, seeing how the evidence against him was flimsy at best, but I'm afraid you've got the wrong guy. Rogue 9 09:05, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, sorry. I probably could've saved myself some ebarassment by checking whether or not you were actually an administrator. Well, in my defense, and take this as a compliment, you sure do act like one. Fephisto 16:44, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Roguelogo1.png

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Roguelogo1.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:39, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

Yo!

Man, what are the odds of finding you here, via a userpage for some guy being a jerk on some page called RONJA (I dont' know what that's about, either), which I found through LED, which I don't know how I got to.

Wikipedia is fun! --Phant 20:18, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heh. Out of curiosity, whose userpage did you find me through? I've dealt with a lot of people on here, and don't remember ever reading the article on RONJA before. Rogue 9 04:13, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Approximately"

[edit]

Your observations about the height of an AT-AT -- scale of Luke, and so on -- is original research. If you can cite a reliable source that offers ambiguity about the height or even a different figure, then cite it. Regardless, please stop inserting your personal interpretation. --EEMIV (talk) 18:11, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is not a personal interpretation; the numbers do not lie. (West End Games, however, either does or just doesn't care if they're right.) Regardless, I can cite numerous sources, starting with the Star Wars Technical Commentaries by Dr. Curtis Saxton. Rogue 9 (talk) 18:22, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I posted a response on the Walker talk page. FYI, it's generally unnecessary to copy-and-paste talk-page responses to the initiating user's page; folks who leave comments generally will keep that page on their watchlist to catch a reply. --EEMIV (talk) 18:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Red Knight (Forgotten Realms)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Red Knight (Forgotten Realms), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Red Knight (Forgotten Realms). Deletion review of Category:Wikipedians who support Hezbollah

Wikipedia:WikiProject Forgotten Realms, a page you created, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Forgotten Realms and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:WikiProject Forgotten Realms during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. I need your vote

[edit]

A while ago I was told that being a theist was a non-defining and trivial characteristic. If being a theist is a non-defining and trivial characteristic how can being an atheist be any differnt save for atheist activists and thinkers who already have their own Category?

I need you Rogue 9 to both vote with me [1] and get others to do the same. --Blackeagles (talk) 18:30, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You may need it, but you can't have it. I'm not interested in pursuing some sort of vendetta against atheists if that's what you're after; if it isn't then I'm not interested in going about deleting stuff either. Rogue 9 (talk) 21:43, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Warhammer 40,000 project page has been updated!
  • Assessment tags have been added to the project banner.
  • New material, including transwiki instructions and an organizational chart, has been added to the main project page.

Project activity

[edit]
File:W40000 Symbol.png

This message is a test to check to see if members of the Warhammer 40K Project are still online, active and interested in helping the project. If you are no longer interested in the project all you need to do is...nothing! If you don't respond to this I'll take your name off the list and you'll never here from us again. If you're the proactive type you can remove the name yourself or talk to me and I'll do it.

If you are still interested in helping out the 40K project or otherwise still want to be listed there you can say so in response to this message on your talk page or on mine. Alternately you can add our new userbox ({{User WikiProject Warhammer 40,000}}) to your userpage and I'll take that as a response. The userpage doesn't automatically include people in a category of members yet, but it might in the future.

We've assessed most of the articles in the project on the Version 1.0 assessment scale (the table on the project page should take a few days to update) but we need to push to get the core articles in the project up to GA status. Thanks for all your help. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help the project along. Protonk (talk) 21:05, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kerry Medal.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kerry Medal.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 10:59, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You maybe interested in the Article Rescue Squadron

[edit]
Hello, Rogue 9. Based on the templates on your talk page, I would like you to consider joining the Article Rescue Squadron. Rescue Squadron members are focused on rescuing articles for deletion, that might otherwise be lost forever. I think you will find our project matches your vision of Wikipedia. Article Rescue Members are not necessarily inclusionists, all wikipedians are warmly welcome to join.~~~~

Proposed deletion of Malar (Forgotten Realms)

[edit]

The article Malar (Forgotten Realms) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-notable - no third party sourcing

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- The Red Pen of Doom 04:32, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notice board mention

[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

I mentioned a few of your talk page edits at WP:AN#Need some talk page edits looked at for possible deletion, per WP:BLP, as possible candidates for deletion per Wikipedias policy on Biographies of living persons. As such, you can't call living persons "Nutcases" and "Ideologues".--JOJ Hutton 02:35, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

He is and he is. If you wish I can go into detail; suffice to say he advocates a position that would be the destruction of liberty under the guise of serving its cause. If the government of the United States had done as he wished in 1860-61, it would have been the end of republican government in the world. That's nut covered. As for ideologue, ideology permeates everything he writes; he starts with his conclusion in mind and then goes hunting for evidence rather than the other way around. That is not how you perform academic inquiry. Rogue 9 (talk) 02:41, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Whether you feel so or not should be kept to yourself and not broadcast on Wikipedia. It violates our policy on Biographies of living people. Consider this the first warning. Any more attempts at violating BLP will receive additional warnings, and an inevitable report to the BLP notice board.--JOJ Hutton 03:01, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As I said on the noticeboard, if they need to be deleted for policy reasons, I have no objection. This does not mean I concede their content. Rogue 9 (talk) 03:03, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thats fine that you feel that way. You can believe anything you wish. Its just that BLP is one of the more serious issues that Wikipedia deals with, and is usually taken very seriously.--JOJ Hutton 03:06, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And that's fine. I'm not trying to argue the point. :) I hope you have a good evening; it's quite late here in the Eastern time zone, so I'm out. Rogue 9 (talk) 03:08, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't worry too much about it, Rogue 9. It's a very common misconception for people to have with regards to BLP, in that it applies to all pages on Wikipedia, and not just articles. From now on, make sure to reign in your opinions about people and avoid making any statements that could be perceived as slanderous. I'm confident you've learned from this and will not make that mistake again. =) Kurtis (talk) 04:58, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My thanks. I certainly have. The whole thing strikes me as a bit paranoid (people say what I wrote and far worse without being brought to trial for slander), but I'm happy to follow the server rules. Rogue 9 (talk) 15:37, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

neutrality

[edit]

"Speaking of truth, the truth isn't neutral either. Articles should be as neutrally toned as possible, but frankly to take a neutral stance on some things (the Holocaust, for instance) is morally reprehensible in itself. In the interests of academic tone we need not spend an entire article condemning such subjects, but we should neither offer justifications in the article, as absolute neutrality requires we must. I will not be party to justifying Stalin, Pol Pot, or any others of their ilk in the name of being neutral."

That's not really what the neutrality policy says, is it? Benjamin (talk) 09:49, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Geez, I forget what I said that on, though at a guess probably in response to a neo-Confederate attempting to whitewash the Confederacy by using the neutrality policy to suppress the role of slavery in the Civil War, which frequently happens. So no, it doesn't actually say that, but people trying to hide an odious agenda prefer to pretend it does. Rogue 9 (talk) 03:38, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes

[edit]

Hello, Rogue 9. Having in mind that you created User:Rogue 9/Userboxes/CSA denied (as well as File:Confederate Third National Flag - Cancelled.png, which I took the liberty to use), maybe you will be interested to display userboxes that I recently created; you may see them at Wikipedia talk:Userboxes/New Userboxes#July 11, 2021. —Sundostund (talk) 21:08, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Rogue 9/Userboxes/Delete deletionists, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Rogue 9/Userboxes/Delete deletionists and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Rogue 9/Userboxes/Delete deletionists during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Dronebogus (talk) 15:28, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
